In the early 1990s, Rosslyn Boggis could be found on Milton Keynes market with a twice-weekly stall selling riding wear and horse equipment. It proved to be such a success that two years later, she rented her first tiny shop, and the business soon outgrew that!
At Lower Rectory Farm, there was a large unit previously used to house 60,000 broiler chickens and now looking for a new purpose. The unit was divided into four – the largest for RB Equestrian’s retail space, and the smaller for the saddlery, office space and a complementary rug laundry business “Equine Wash Wear”. Outside space also allowed for installation of a ménage for RB’s customers to bring their horses for saddle fitting and other requirements.
Today, RB Equestrian is now one of the largest and most well-respected equestrian stores in the UK and a true family business. Rossyln can be found in the shop most days, with her daughter Kathryn running operations as Managing Director.
